Library "Manuel Cardona"

The Manuel Cardona Library has 2,400 titles registered in the institution's collective catalog, with 17 acquisitions in 2020, and 78 open subscriptions to scientific journals. The Library has recorded 21 monograph loans, from 20 active users, during the year. The documentation service counted 47 external requests (25 from CSIC centers), including 43 for journal articles and 4 for monographs, according to URICI statistics.

2020 Activities

New books

The Vice Presidency of Organization and Institutional Relations assigned to the libraries of the CSIC Network a credit for the acquisition of printed book, corresponding to € 2000 for the center, which were distributed among the different research groups, acquiring 14 titles.

Open Access

In November, the library participated in the course organized by the Training Office of the CSIC's Assistant General Secretariat for Human Resources "Open access, reproducible science", which was taught virtually. And, also virtually, the library attended in April, different modules of the Web of Science training cycle organized by the Spanish Foundation for Science and Technology. In October the library gave the seminar titled "Open Access: new things at the CSIC", coinciding with the International Open Access Week, to explain the new transformative agreements that are now in place, or being prepared with the main scientific publishers for the free open access publication of articles , as well as the progressive extension of the open access movement to data sets.

Bibliometry

This service also carried out various bibliometric calculation tasks for researchers and for the center as a whole, especially the comparative statistics of the ICMAB production with the rest of the CSIC centers, according to the data from the ConCIENCIA corporate application, in the different research lines of the Institute.
