The Institute secured a total budget of 15.8 M€ in 2020. The competitive budget represents a 66 % (10.5 M€) and 34% comes from the CSIC (5.3 M€).
The budget from the European Union represents a 25.7 % of the total budget (4.1 M€), and 21.9 % of the total budget comes from the Ministry of Science and Innovation (3.5 M€). The budget from private sources (including contracts and services) represents a 2 % of the total budget (0.4 M€). This year there is a 4.9 % of competitive budget from the CSIC too (0.8 M€).
A 56.6 % of the budget devoted to the scientific projects carried out at the ICMAB comes from the European Union, a 35.9 % from the Ministry of Science and Innovation, a 5.1 % are Industry Contracts and a 2,4 % is funding from the Generalitat de Catalunya. The EU funding has been extraordinary high during the last three years 2017-2019.
